There has been a concerted campaign by the Obama Administration and Democrats to paint opponenets - particularly pro-life opponents - as terrorists. The most recent example is Congressman Baron Hill from Indiana, who recently about opponents of BHO`s health care bill:

“What I don’t want to do is create an opportunity for the people who are political terrorists to blow up the meeting and not try to answer thoughtful questions”

So, dissent, that thing which the Democrats praised as the highest civic virtue during the Bush Administration, now equates with political terrorism. 

The outcry against the Department of Homeland Security report (and the earlier Missouri Information Analysis Center document) led to a tactical retreat, but the Democrats and Obama are not going to stand down on this charge.

Why? Because this serves several long term goals: it redefines the “center” (where we are all told we are supposed to be) farther left by demonizing Christians, pro-lifers, military people, third party types, second amendment types, and it strengthens the Obama policies of engagement and using international institutions. The war on terror is predicated on the notion that terrorists and their state sponsors are subject to our moral judgement, and that we can therefore use military force to destroy them. The lunatic left in this country wants a return to the concept of terrorism as police matter (because they believe terrorists are ultimately victims and it serves their long-term hegemonic interests) and the end of American unilateralism in favor of the rule of international bodies. They believe in global governance, and seek to subsume American power into the collective. By creating a kind of moral parity, by redefining terrorism to mean conservatives, they are justified in taking draconian action against the “right wing extremism” with the full force of the law and at the same time they remove the justification for the war on terror, as we are equally “guilty” of fostering a culture of terrorism. How can we threaten military action against, say, Iran if we are the home of millions of terrorists?

In other words, it destroys political opponents, allows the expansion of Federal power over Americans, ends the war, and greatly expands the power of the U.N. What`s not to love?

But where did the Obamaniacs in the DHS get their information? Turns out the “research” that led to the report came from leftist conspiracy websites! (1)

According to the article:

“In response to the report, the conservative group Americans for Limited Government filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demanding to know how DHS had arrived at that conclusion.

The group calls the DHS response “stunning” because officials admit that they relied on a range of web sites, including mainstream media web pages, to compile the report.

“As it turns out, Janet Napolitano’s DHS did not conduct even the most rudimentary research or investigation. It did no statistical analysis. It did not even bother to interview those it accused and allow them the opportunity to defend themselves,” the group said in a statement today.

“Instead, in what should send shockwaves throughout the nation, DHS functionaries simply cruised the Internet (in tin-foil hats, no doubt) and relied entirely upon some of the most disreputable sites on the web to stage its attack upon its ‘rightwing’ targets,” ALG added.”

The top listed resource for this report was www.whatdoesitmean.com, a well known leftist conspiracy page. Also the Southern Law Poverty Center, an infamously radical leftist group, had their hands all over this report.

In short, Michael Moore could have written this thing in half an hour, provided he had half an hour between meals.

The point is, this was a work of fiction, and was never intended to be anything but. The whole point is to maintain a steady drum beat of accusations against political enemies, to keep this charge alive. There is too much riding on the success of smearing defenders of the Constitution to allow this to die, and doubtless there will be another attack from a different angle - all aimed at the keeping this notion alive in the public`s consciousness. 

The domestic terrorists are not the American people, but the cadre of leftists in Washington and the Annanberg Challenge, in Moveon and Netroots, in the classes financed by George Soros.. They are the ones who are creating chaos to serve their political agenda.
