President Obama’s friends call him the smartest man ever to occupy the White House (a dubious claim in light of the fact that John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln and Woodrow Wilson all had better intellectual credentials or were far superior writers, or both).

According to his supporters, his command of the English language is supposedly unparalleled (when using a teleprompter, presumably).

There’s only one problem: Obama is addicted to utilizing language that he has carefully tailored or perverted to obfuscate the truth. In other words, he uses double talk on a routine basis.

There’s been a remarkable amount of coverage of President Obama’s appearance at the House Republican retreat today, but I haven’t seen anyone focus on the President’s rather stunning admission about the Democrats’ health care legislation:

President Obama stated at the GOP retreat in Baltimore:

“The last thing I will say, though — let me say this about health care and the health care debate, because I think it also bears on a whole lot of other issues. If you look at the package that we’ve presented — and there’s some stray cats and dogs that got in there that we were eliminating, we were in the process of eliminating. For example, we said from the start that it was going to be important for us to be consistent in saying to people if you can have your — if you want to keep the health insurance you got, you can keep it, that you’re not going to have anybody getting in between you and your doctor in your decision making. And I think that some of the provisions that got snuck in might have violated that pledge.”

So Obama had his big State of the Union television debut, or what would have been a bigger television debut, if he had actually hoarded his appearances, instead of constantly delivering televised addresses to the nation, Castro style. Obama did manage to get viewers to tune in, who usually tuned him out, but he still couldn’t manage to even equal his own stimulus plan address less than a year ago. To say nothing of matching Bush’s State of the Union addresses.

This was the moment that Obama should have been hoarding his TV time for, instead of squandering it on constant appearances. The result was a much weaker impact than intended. Obama needed this speech to rebound from the collapsing health care bill and poor poll numbers. But instead he went on a fumbling offensive, trying to juggle an attempt to sell his attempt to capitalize on the new post-brown populism, blame Bush for everything, introduce a new phase of spending plans while claiming to be trying to cut the deficit, and appeasing the left by throwing out Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, a candy reform he had been saving for the progressives for a while now.

(Jan. 28, 2010) — The U.S. Treasury Department is openly providing protection to terrorists by removing thousands of names from an international watch list used to prevent European Union funding from reaching terrorist organizations, according to a report dated January 24, 2010 in Israel National News.

According to Avi Tarango, journalist for INN, thousands of names have been removed from the 443-page list of terrorists which is distributed to banks around the world to prevent funding from reaching terrorists or terrorist organizations.  According to Tarango, only the names of groups or subgroups of terrorists remain, while the specific names of individuals are no longer there.

Speaker’s trips ‘are more about partying than anything else’

But that single receipt makes up just part of the more than $101,000 taxpayers paid for “in-flight services” – including food and liquor, for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trips on Air Force jets over the last two years. That’s almost $1,000 per week.

“Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called in a new audiotape for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming.” reports the AP.

“This is a message to the whole world about those responsible for climate change and its repercussions - whether intentionally or unintentionally - and about the action we must take,” a transcript on Al-Jazeera’s Web site states.

B. Insane Obama:As I sat listening to B. Hussein Obama give the strangest state of the union address I have ever heard, several thoughts came to mind about what he was saying. I brushed the thoughts aside now and then to yell, “You lie” at the television, but he did not stop. The alleged media pundits drove me further to the brink by saying the president was “doubling down” on his agenda. He didn’t double down, which implies he would have some money left over. He doesn’t.
