The federal government is well aware of its limited jurisdiction. They will assume jurisdiction within a state when allowed to. But they know full and well that they have none. So when it is to their advantage, they suddenly remember and deny jurisdiction to hear a case or quo warranto writs. They have no authority over you within the state, therefore you have no standing or right to bring a writ against them. The federal governement is a government among the states not among the people. That is why the constitution says direct taxes must be apportioned among the states. The Ordinance of 1789 confirms this, as it states an irrevocable law that says that federal taxes collected within the states is to be at the direction and authority of the state legislatures.

My coder is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on numerous websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Good job David. I have to agree with Bill H.’s question concerning Scalia’s “immoral and unacceptable” language in his dissent. Who decides what is and isn’t immoral and unacceptable? Hopefully, it won’t be Scalia.
