American Grand Jury’s Mack Ellis - an insider’s take on the 9/12 Washington rally

American Grand Jury

September 17th, 2009
What was the Rally and Meeting in Washington DC about? The quick response is big government spending, healthcare, constitutional authority, the appointments of unconstitutional czars, cap and trade bill issues, and a whole host of other concerns that patriotic U.S. citizens have. The point is there were many reasons for people to show up at this event.

Personally, I believe the “birther” issue, whether or not Obama/Soetoro is eligible to even be in this country, much less be eligible to be on the democratic ballot to be elected President of the U.S., is a much more important question. If this question is HONESTLY answered, I believe there will be a whole host of problems that will simply become null and void due to the fact that everything this enemy has done will be automatically reversed.

March on Washington: How Big Was the Crowd? - Thanks LindaB

Pajamas Media published
Posted By Charlie Martin On September 14, 2009

“How big is it?” is certainly one of the world’s most dreaded questions.

In fact, after the Million Man March in 1995, Congress restricted the National Park Service from even making estimates — a restriction that was maintained for 14 years and then quietly rescinded this January for the Obama inauguration.

I’m talking about crowds, of course. I can’t take you people anywhere.

There have been a lot of estimates, from the “official” one of 60 to 70 thousand, up to the rumored 2 million. Let’s see if we can make a plausible estimate with some rigor and some idea of possible error.

Yesterday, I made a back of the envelope calculation that Stephen Green picked up at Vodkapundit [1], simply to see if the high estimates were at all plausible. A number I picked up by Google searching told me that a pretty good crowd is about 18 people in 10 square meters — that’s about half as crowded as a crowded elevator (approximately one person per six square feet).

9/12 was a transformative event

American ThinkerAmerican Thinker published

By Clarice Feldman and Rosslyn Smith

Sometimes an event occurs which is transformative in a way that everyone who sees it or participates in it instantly is aware of. Yesterday’s demonstration in Washington DC is one of those rare happenings in my opinion.

The Daily Mail said 2 million Americans participated. My friend Charlie Martin extrapolated from the pictures an attendance figure of 2.3 million. Here is a time lapse (David Crockett Notice, I included it in the text) of the parade portion of the event so you can get a feel for yourself of the size of the crowd. Whatever the actual number it is sure to be seriously underestimated by the Obama-besotted members of the press corps who are also likely to misrepresent the participants and their views.

But as a participant, I want you to know the attendees were wonderful people, civil and polite. They showed their respect for the Capitol and the event by leaving no mess behind when they were through, in marked contrast to the inauguration and the usual left wing demonstrations here.

The 9-12 March- the power elites don’t count people because to them the people don’t count

Alan KeyesAlan Keyes published

On September 12, 2009 a very large crowd gathered from all parts of the country to manifest grassroots anger against the Washington politicians who are betraying the liberty of the American people. In my lifetime I have never known such a large manifestation of public feeling to pass with so little notice or discussion in the so-called “mainstream” media outlets. This absence of coverage obviously tells us very little about the event that took place. However, it tells us all we need to know about the people who control the so-called “mainstream” media. They believe the people of this country no longer matter.

“Silent No More” – A Protester at the 9/12 March Reflects - Thanks tpgow

Helen White is a dear friend who served as a US Senate page with me and is now a student at UGA. Yesterday, she participated in the 9/12 “March on Washington” and kindly offered to share her thoughts about the historic event as a guest post.

The so-called “silent majority” broke the still morning air of Pennsylvania Avenue on the morning of September 12th 2009.  Approximately one million Americans congregated in our nation’s Capitol to make their frustrations known.

9/12 demonstration a record DC turnout: National Park Service

UPDATE

On January 22, 2009 The Boston Glob published an article titled “Inaugural crowd size reportedly D.C. record” in which there was reference to one David Darna, spokesman for the National Park Service, as saying:

“…It is a record,” Barna said. “We believe it is the largest event held in Washington, D.C., ever…”

It cannot be excluded that “Dan Bana” actually is David Barna and that quote indeed refers to the inauguration rally. If indeed so I will of course publish a rectification this however after having consulted Thomas Lifson at American Thinker.

Notice even if it would proof that American Thinker and myself were in error this would certainly not proof the obots right in respect to the numbers as we have both the pictures and reliable patriotic witnesses giving proof of enormous attendance.

END UPDATE

American ThinkerBy Thomas Lifson

The truth will out. Despite mainstream media attempts to characterize turnout as in the thousands, a spokesman for the National Park Service, Dan Bana, is quoted as saying “It is a record…. We believe it is the largest event held in Washington, D.C., ever.”

Democrats and their media acolytes may wish this weren’t so, and they may even employ the Ostrich Strategy, burying their collective heads in the sand, pretending that a major important political movement isn’t happening. But they only hasten their own demise in doing so.

Meanwhile, Gateway Pundit compares the littler left behind on 9/12 with the aftermath of the Obama inauguration. It is a startling contrast.

Outstanding Article: America Spoke - By Jim Simpson

The Strategy of Manufactured Crisis published

Washington, DC. Saturday September 12, 2009. America spoke today. Real America. Not black America, not white America, not Hispanic or Asian America, not even conservative or liberal America. Real America. There were mothers, sons, fathers, daughters, newborn children and kids on the way up; there were many, many elderly and a lot of disabled folks, young and old, in wheelchairs. Many of these people had never been to a protest before in their lives. People were pleasant, polite and considerate. There was not a drunken eye in the house. The most unlikely bunch of domestic terrorists one could ever imagine. Contrast that with the Leftists’ “peace” movement in Seattle a few years back.

We are not liberals or conservatives. We are Americans. I am not a conservative, I distain that label. It was dreamt up by some leftist so people like me could be buttonholed and dismissed as, “oh, he’s just a conservative.” And as the media has fallen further into the Left’s maw, conservative has morphed into “rightwing” which has morphed into “radical rightwing nut” and inevitably, “fascist!” Of course Hitler was in fact a leftist, and allied with Stalin until he realized he had been duped. But the left glosses over that inconvenient truth, as they do with the truth generally.

Here is a picture from the cap building down penn ave
Correct picture

All these people were moved into the national mall area. The parks officers were trying to get these people moved and din’t want them on the national mall because there was no permit. As a matter of fact when they told us this the whole crowd yelled it’s our mall we own and we will move there. Guess what that is where the crowds filled in to. The cap police and parks officers didn;t expect this many people

Investigating Obama is reporting

Arial photographs prove that hundreds of thousands (not just the deranged Marxstream media’s party line of “tens of thousands”) showed up to the 9/12 March on Washington. As shown by The Astute Bloggers, the following photos compare yesterday’s crowd size with that of the Bogus POTUS Inauguration…

Conservative Woodstock Rocks the Capital

Looking At The Left published the following wonderful pictures

Patriotic anti-big-government taxpayers blast through the 2 million protester mark

September 12, 2009, Washington, D.C.

ABC News reports that two million Americans flooded D.C. in what people in the crowd were calling “a conservative Woodstock” Like the liberal Woodstock of the ’60s, thousands were rumored stranded on freeways. Some walked in to DC, ditching their cars and busses. I walked with a 5 deep 6 block long column of protesters from Pennsylvania Avenue who had walked miles from where they had to leave their busses. Networks including Fox News continued through the time I’m writing this at 8 p.m. local Eastern time reporting that “tens of thousands” showed up. Whasup with that?  When will we get some reliable reporting out of the corporate media types?

_MG_0198

This event had been promoted as a taxpayer “tea party” but the crowd’s concerns wide ranging, from outrage at ACORN and Obama’s socialist cadre known as Czars, to Obama’s untruthfulness. Protesters also displayed signs mocking Nancy Pelosi and others for smearing the grassroots movement as “astroturfers” and as an angry mob.

_MG_0199

The two photos above show a tiny fraction of the two million ABC estimates attended. I saw signs and heard lots of comments comparing this event to Woodstock. At the time this photo was taken, around 1:00 p.m., Pennsylvania Avenue was still jammed completely, and the mall was packed from the Capitol Building past the Washington Monument. See aerial photos here.

The photo above is a view of part of the crowd of protesters who gathered in Washington, D.C. and around the country today to demand control of reckless runaway government spending and to voice their opposition to the government takeover of healthcare.

Police agencies estimates the crowd at 1.2 million.  ABC News, however, reported this afternoon that the crowd was estimated at 2 million.

Up to two million march to US Capitol to protest against Obama’s spending in ‘tea-party’ demonstration

logo

Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as “Obamacare makes me sick” as they protested the president’s health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.

The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

People were chanting “enough, enough” and “We the People.” Others yelled “You lie, you lie!” and “Pelosi has to go,” referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading “Go Green Recycle Congress” and “I’m Not Your ATM.” Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of “judgment day” - Election Day 2010.

Corporate Media Seriously Under Reports Numbers at D.C. Tea Party

header
By DefendUSx

Infowars
September 12, 2009

The corporate media reports “tens of thousands” in attendance at the Tea Party demo today in the District of Criminals. Sources on the scene, however, put the number at hundreds of thousands upward to over a million.

“But whether the marchers reflect a small minority’s continuing anger over the more liberal direction the country began taking in the 2008 election or something deeper that could have repercussions in 2010 and 2012 is one of the questions the march may begin to answer,” reports Politico this afternoon.
